A BOOKKEEPER'S LAMENT

A BOOKKEEPER'S LAMENT
by Mug
Numbers, numbers everywhere
And not a word they speak.
Numbers, numbers everywhere...
Much havoc do they wreak.
Twirling numbers fill the air;
They bounce and swirl and sway...
They jump around before my eyes...
To them it's all 'child's play'.
I try to grasp them in my hands;
I try to hold them down.
But they continue frolicking...
And I just stand and frown.

  1. I lug it! :) I can SO relate here. I have a love/hate relationship with numbers :) Given how cute/clever this poem is I can't help but wonder if perhaps you should WRITE books rather than "keep" them? :)
