If "if's" and "but's" were....

I made 35 of these quote blocks for my 8th-grade English students last year for Christmas. This was also one of the quotations they had to write about in their quote journals in December.

They had to write 75 words.

What would you say if you had to respond to this quote?

    I'm not sure if I could write 75 words on it, but it IS too easy to make excuses, isn't it? That is surely one to think about.

  3. All definitions are accepted providing the students could apply it specifically to their lives.
    Yes, FarmGal...Lots of interesting discussion on this one...Some compared it to another saying/quote we had..."If wishes were horses, beggars would ride" which is part of an old, old nursery rhyme, I believe.
